Your privacy

The following privacy notice explains the personal information we collect about you at overlapse.com, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to our working partners, and how we keep it secure.

Cookies
Cookies are tiny text files that are stored in your web browser directories. They collect anonymous details about your interaction with our website and help you navigate more efficiently. Disabling cookies may reduce website functionality.

At overlapse.com you will be assigned a cookie to enable viewing prices in a ‘localised’ currency (either GBP or USD) and, for example, to allow you to store an item in your cart while continuing to browse our site before checking out. Our site does not use cookies for tracking your activity for advertising purposes, or for any reason other than explained above.

You can manage and delete stored cookies at any time via the web browser you use. To learn more about cookies see this brief video made by The Guardian.

Personal information
During the checkout process we collect your name, billing address, shipping address and email address for the purpose of fulfilling your order and communicating with you about it.

We do not send postal mailings, other than for the purpose of fulfilling your order.

For tax purposes we store the above personal information in our invoices, for as long as it’s practically required to do so.

Financial information
We do not collect or store any of your personal financial information. Payments are securely handled by integrated third-party processors that you can select from: either Stripe for credit and debit card payments, or PayPal for card and account payments. You can view their privacy and data protection policies via the links above.

Partnerships
Antenne Books distributes a selection of our titles to bookshops and resellers in the UK and Europe. If you contact us to request a trade order we may share your contact information with Antenne.

We value our relationships with the bookshops that sell our titles around the world, for a list see here.

Email newsletter
If you opt-in to receive our occasional newsletter we collect your email address. We use it to send you news about our publications, to offer special discounts, and to inform you about upcoming events. We do not buy, sell or trade email lists for marketing purposes.

We use a third-party application to deliver our newsletter. This app provides us with general statistics about email opening and clicks that we can view to monitor and improve our newsletter. You can opt out of receiving our emails, with immediate effect, at any time by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any of our emails, or by sending a request to info@overlapse.com.

Google Analytics
When someone visits overlapse.com we use the third-party application Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and statistics about our visitor activity. The log information we collect does not personally identify anyone, but allows us to view basic details like search terms and links that were used to locate us, which countries visitors connect from, which are our most popular web pages, and what browsers and devices people use to access our website. This information assists us in developing a more efficient and engaging website. You can view their privacy policy at this link.

Links to external websites
Overlapse.com contains links to other websites, such as those of photographers and artists we work with, our partner booksellers, friends, and organisations and institutions. Our privacy notice does not apply to any website that you may visit when you click on external links.

We currently have active social media accounts with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Overlapse will never request personal details or sensitive information about you via these social media platforms.
